June 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - The SingTel Sustainability Report 2013 “Engage. Listen. Execute.” and the Optus Sustainability Report 2013 “Business Done Differently” are now available online.

These reports present key aspects of both companies’ sustainability strategies, policies and performance relating to environmental, social, governance and economic issues for the financial year ended 31 March 2013.

(A) The SingTel Sustainability Report 2013 “Engage. Listen. Execute.” is now available online at http://info.singtel.com/sustainability-report/2013.

It highlights some of the company’s achievements and challenges during the year, including its commitments to embracing responsible business practices, being an employer of choice, managing its environmental footprint and impact, supporting and investing in community development, and engaging a diverse group of stakeholders. Key highlights include completion of Phase 1 of the three-year stakeholder engagement exercise, launch of the SingTel Supplier Code of Conduct, inclusion of carbon emissions from employee commute for the first time and community investments of over S$4 million.

SingTel’s report meets the requirements of a GRI Level ‘B+’ rating and was subjected to an external assurance process.

(B) The Optus Sustainability Report 2013 “Business Done Differently” is now available online at www.optus.com.au/corporateresponsibility.

This report highlights the transformation Optus has gone through this past year: setting up its business for the future and responding to current and emerging trends. Key highlights include Optus’ renewed customer focus, organisational restructure, network upgrades, refocused retail distribution and partnering with Rockcorps to generate more than 20,000 hours of volunteering in the community. Optus also increased its investment to A$9.4million in the community particularly with programmes focused on helping vulnerable youth.

Optus’ report meets the requirements of a GRI Level ‘A’ rating.
