This year’s report represents the company’s first web-based design, which offers increased transparency around Symantec’s progress against its corporate responsibility goals, as well as access to more specific data and metrics. The report also includes a look at Symantec’s material issues including information security, customer satisfaction, climate change, human rights, diversity and inclusion, and talent retention.

Highlights from the report include:

- Symantec provided its groundbreaking Web-based service Norton Online Family (http://onlinefamilyinfo.norton.com/?inid=us_2009Apr_Family_Resources) for download free of charge. This service helps parents communicate more effectively with their children about responsible Internet use.

- Globally, environmental responsibility remains a priority. Nine Symantec sites were LEED-certified and ten Symantec buildings obtained ENERGY STAR ratings in the past year.

- As part of its continuing efforts to promote gender equality, Symantec declared its support for the Women’s Empowerment Principles in May 2010.
