ATLANTA, September 18, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The Trust for Public Land (TPL) announces Cox Enterprises as the presenting sponsor for its “Urban Nights, City Lights” event.

On Saturday, November 4, The Trust for Public Land will host its 9th annual Celebration of Land, where it will honor Ed McBrayer as its 2017 Conservation Trailblazer.  In 1991, Ed helped form the PATH Foundation, a nonprofit organization with a mission of connecting the Atlanta region with a network of trails for commuting and recreating. Under his leadership, PATH has built over 235 miles of trails throughout the region. Cox Enterprises’ Chairman Jim Kennedy is a previous recipient of the award.

The Trust for Public Land’s mission is to create parks and to protect land for people ensuring healthy, livable communities for generations to come.  As someone dedicated to connectivity in Atlanta and beyond, Ed is a natural recipient of this notable award.  By making Atlanta a safer and more connected city for everyone to enjoy, his work through PATH aligns directly with The Trust for Public Land’s mission.

Cox Enterprises’ support of the “Urban Nights, City Lights” is a part of the company’s national Cox Conserves sustainability program that is celebrating its 10th anniversary. This support builds upon Cox’s national environmental partnership with The Trust for Public Land, where the company provides visibility and awareness for the Parks for People initiative, as well as partnering on the Cox Conserves Heroes program. Cox Conserves Heroes honors environmental volunteers across the nation who are creating and preserving outdoor spaces.
