Campaign: Sanofi Pasteur

TANNERSVILLE, Pa., December 17, 2014 /3BL Media/ – At the December 2014 United Way of Monroe County Board of Directors meeting, representatives of Sanofi Pasteur announced the highest fundraising total in the history of the company’s United Way annual campaign, which were followed by words of thanks from United Way staff, volunteers, and enthusiasts.

The campaign total of $328,673.83 included employee donations, along with the assistance of a company match from both Sanofi Pasteur and the Sanofi Foundation for North America. Eighty-six percent, or $283,167.83, will be credited toward the United Way of Monroe County’s annual campaign. Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of Sanofi, with comprehensive U.S. offices in Swiftwater, Pa., is the United Way’s largest single contributor for Monroe County.

As part of the internal campaign, Sanofi Pasteur developed a creative platform titled, “Generosity: Everyone Wins When We Play United,” which provided a fun, team-oriented environment for employees as they were educated about the positive impact of the United Way and their potential donation.  Additionally, as part of the event employees engaged with representatives from the United Way and several of its partner agencies.

Key company volunteers for the campaign were: Dale Parisi, vice president, Human Resources, Commercial Operations, Vaccines, Americas, who is Sanofi Pasteur’s United Way campaign advisor and a board member of the United Way of Monroe County; company Campaign Co-Chair Carolyn Dulney, manager, Regulatory Affairs; company Campaign Co-Chair Erica McGraw, deputy director, Industrial Strategy; company Campaign Vice Chair Amy Besecker, deputy director, Marketing and Sales Planning & Analysis; and company Campaign Vice Chair Kristen Fitch, deputy director, Product Management.

Both Dulney and McGraw revealed the milestone campaign results, as well as the personal significance of the campaign to a packed room of meeting attendees. During their comments, they thanked key individuals responsible for the success of the campaign, including Damian Braga, senior vice president, Global Commercial Operations, and the many employees who played an integral part in the community fundraising initiative.

“It is truly amazing how each year the Sanofi Pasteur team of company volunteers create a new, fun theme for the campaign that also conveys an important charitable message, said Mathilda Sheptak, executive director of the United Way of Monroe County. “These innovative campaigns not only motivate employees to donate monetarily, but also their time and talent. The United Way of Monroe County also appreciates the many Sanofi Pasteur employees who donate their time to serve on our committees -- including the Board of Directors, represent the UWMC at events, and advocate for us.”

“The United Way of Monroe County is grateful for the continued support of Sanofi Pasteur.  They are the largest contributor to our annual campaign and exemplify the true meaning of giving back to our community.  On behalf of the thousands of individuals who have been helped by the health and human service programs supported by their contributions, we thank them for their generosity.”
