SAN FRANCISCO, July 26, 2016 /3BL Media/ -- VolunteerMatch, the web’s largest volunteer engagement network, announced today the finalists for its annual Employee Volunteer Program of the Year Award. This award honors companies for exemplary employee volunteer programs during the previous calendar year.

The two winners will be recognized during a ceremony at VM Summit 16, VolunteerMatch’s annual conference, which brings companies and nonprofits together to learn how to create better, more impactful partnerships, specifically around corporate volunteering.

The finalists are as follows (one winner will be chosen from each size category):

Small-Medium Business (Under 10,000 Employees):

1st Source Bank
Appirio
Hagerty
Old National Bank
NetSuite

Large Business (Over 10,000 Employees):

Allina Health
Humana
JetBlue
Morgan Stanley
Union Bank

“We are honored to work with these leading companies throughout the year, and look forward to coming together in Chicago at VM Summit 16 to recognize their hard work,” says Bree von Faith, Senior Marketing Manager at VolunteerMatch and Event Manager for VM Summit 16. “These companies continually inspire us with their thoughtful and innovative employee volunteer programs.”

Finalists were chosen from the pool of Solutions by VolunteerMatch clients who use YourMatch™ to manage their corporate volunteer programs. Metrics used to determine exemplary performance include: The percentage of employees who visited the company’s volunteer site, the percentage of these visitors who took action (either signed up for a project or tracked volunteer hours), the number of hours volunteered per 1,000 employees, and the average hours contributed by an individual volunteer. This is a shift from the metrics used in previous years in an effort to put more emphasis on engagement, rather than solely looking at the quantity of hours.
