NORWALK, Conn., September 29, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Working Mother magazine has recognized Diageo North America among the “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” for the eighth consecutive year. Diageo has repeatedly been named to this respected annual list for the company’s outstanding leadership in creating progressive programs for its employees in the areas of advancement of women, flexibility, child care and paid parental leave.

“At Diageo we value inclusion and creating a place where our employees can be their best, and we are thrilled to once again be recognized by Working Mother for being a great place for moms to work,” said Alessandra Ginante, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Diageo North America. “Creating an environment where mothers can continue to pursue career as well as family helps make this a better place for all of our people.”

Jennifer Owens, Editorial Director of Working Mother Media, said, “For 31 years, Working Mother has tracked the progress of companies that lead in creating a supportive workplace for America’s families. Now more than ever, with changing family dynamics, parental benefits are a key weapon in the war for talent. These companies aim to create the culture that attracts the best talent.”

Diageo offers a variety of flexible working arrangements including job share, flextime, compressed hours and opportunities to work remotely with company-provided computers, office equipment and supplies. For those starting a family, the company offers maternity, paternity, and adoption leave, and also reimburses a percentage of the cost for in vitro and fertility treatments.  Employees are allotted time each month for family leave in order to attend activities at their children’s schools, as well as five days per year of paid time off to volunteer, which can be used to participate at events at their children’s schools or elsewhere in the community. Diageo subsidizes back-up daycare and adult/elder care, as well as in-home childcare, and matches employees’ flexible spending accounts for dependent care.  For those with tweens/teens, Diageo provides college preparation and placement assistance.

Pregnant women and new moms can take advantage of nutrition education and smoking cessation programs, and nursing mothers can access private pumping rooms. Many office locations offer on-site timesaving services such as a health club and dry cleaning drop-off/pickup, and all employees have access to a concierge service. Further, to help employees manage their families’ health, the company hosts a variety of wellness programs, including a company-wide health challenge, regular Wellness Webexes, and wellness fairs.

To invest in its employees and build up a future pipeline of leaders, Diageo offers early career programs to attract and hire a diverse workforce and provides coaching initiatives to help employees succeed in their careers. Diageo’s Spirited Women’s Network business resource group supplements these efforts by hosting regular networking receptions and career talks by female Diageo executives to engage, retain and grow talented female employees.

In addition to inclusion and support for working parents, social responsibility is core to Diageo’s values.  Diageo cares passionately about people enjoying its brands responsibly, and reducing alcohol related harm in society through its own programs and partnership and collaboration with others.  For more on Diageo’s responsibility efforts, and how the company promotes a positive role for alcohol in society, visit http://bit.ly/2cVHm7O.
