Schaumburg, Ill., October 18, 2012 /3BL Media/ - During its 100 year anniversary of insuring America this year, Zurich is building upon its “100 Ways” program, completing 100+ projects of service for communities across U.S. and Canada in 2012, by continuing to support Blessings in a Backpack alongside PGA TOUR golfer Justin Rose through the “Birdies for Blessings” program.

For every birdie Rose makes on TOUR, he and his wife Kate donate $80, the cost to feed one child on the weekends for a year, to Blessings in a Backpack, an organization helping ensure underprivileged school children across America are receiving proper nourishment on the weekends, and in turn, Zurich matches their contribution.

Jennifer Torneden, head of Golf Ambassador Sponsorship Program for Zurich in North America presented a check for $24,240 to the Justin and Kate Rose Foundation on Oct. 15, 2012.

“As part of our 100 years of insuring America, we’re proud to continue to support such great causes like Blessings in a Backpack as part of our relationship with the PGA TOUR,” said Torneden. “Caring about people and our communities through active engagement is important to our heritage and who we are as a company today.”

Zurich is proud to support the PGA TOUR's mission of "Together, anything's possible" through its combined support of Blessings in a Backpack, which contributes more than $110,000 to the program annually.
