Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD) was pleased to find out Tuesday that it has been recognized as one of the Maplecroft Climate Innovation Index (CII) Leaders, which includes the 100 US stocks that are top performers in climate-related innovation and carbon management.
The Maplecroft CIIs, calculated by Bloomberg and based upon evaluations by corporate risk intelligence specialist Maplecroft, rank 300 of the largest U.S. companies on their climate-related innovation and carbon management programs. In addition to making the Maplecroft CII Leaders, AMD was also identified as one of the companies within the top ten performing stocks.
The Maplecroft CIIs family includes three indexes of US stocks:
1. The Maplecroft CII – c. 300 of the largest US companies that engage in public climate-related programs
2. The Maplecroft CII Leaders – 100 top performing companies from the Maplecroft CII
3. The Maplecroft CII US 100 – the 100 largest US companies by free-float market capitalization
AMD is proud to be one of the companies recognized in the Maplecroft CII Leaders and to be seen as successful in managing and innovating its products and operations around climate-related issues.
AMD’s stock was rated using public domain sources, including Web sites, sustainability reports, investor presentations, and UN Global Compact Communications on Progress. This was supplemented by third party stakeholder viewpoints and direct engagement with AMD, particularly in the area of innovation. The rating methodology also used Maplecroft’s global risk indices to understand wider climate change risk exposures across the entire footprint of the company.
