AMD Corporate Responsibility Blog: New and Transparent
|
(Justmeans.com / CSR News) - At AMD, we get transparency. We have continuously reported on AMD’s record of sustainability and corporate responsibility for 15 years. For the last nine years, we have also published a free-standing report dedicated to climate protection. We are proud of this record, but we think we can do more. In today’s world, access to information is instantaneous and online. Communication is more of a discussion than a monologue – opinions are shared on a real-time basis, facts and assertions are scrutinized and, ultimately our understanding is enriched. Simultaneously, AMD watchers know the scope and pace of the changes to this company: We completed the formation of GLOBALFOUNDRIES. We reorganized internally around a single business unit – The Product Group. Just in the last year, we completed an historic settlement in our antitrust litigation against Intel, bringing the promise of fair and open competition to the industry. Finally, we made significant progress strengthening our balance sheet. The confluence of the stunning pace of changes here at AMD, the exponential increase in access to information, and our goal of open dialogue with stakeholders all point to the need to up our game in transparency. As one piece of a broader strategy, we have decided to launch a blog featuring news, information and opinion on corporate responsibility topics pertaining to AMD and business at large. This blog will be updated periodically with information authored by AMD leaders addressing all aspects of our responsibility, policies, programs and performance. It will be one way to keep our internal and external stakeholders informed and engaged on a real-time basis. Examples of some of the topics we are planning to tackle in the coming months include: These and many other topics will be covered by a variety of leaders from across the company. Like any blog, we invite you to share your opinions and comments. We feel strongly about transparency and dialogue with our stakeholders. Our hope is that this new blog will open a new chapter in our corporate responsibility journey and increase information flow and learning for all. Let’s get this started: Tell us what you think of our new blog and other ways we could communicate and engage with stakeholders. Tim Mohin is Director, Corporate Responsibility at AMD.
