Al Iannuzzi, Johnson & Johnson to Speak at Certification Consumption and Change Conference, Washington DC, 5/24/11
Conference to drive discussion using real-world examples of certification successes and challenges
(Justmeans.com) May 13, 2011 – New York, NY – Justmeans is proud to announce the participation of Johnson & Johnson at the Certification, Consumption and Change Conference on May 24 in Washington DC, that will bring together thought leaders from social enterprises, leading brands, and certifying bodies to discuss and plan the future of ethical certification.
Al Iannuzzi is a Senior Director in the Worldwide Environment, Health & Safety department at Johnson & Johnson where he directs the global Product Stewardship, Design for Environment and Green Marketing programs. He has 30 years of experience in the EHS field and has led Johnson & Johnson’s environmental and toxicology programs as well as the development of the Healthy Planet 2010 Sustainability goals and the Earthwards green product design process. Prior to J&J, Al worked for the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and his work experience includes environmental consulting. Al received his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Policy from the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati where he researched EHS compliance and self-regulation programs. He is the author of the book, "Industry Self-Regulation and Voluntary Environmental Compliance" (CRC Press, 2002) and has written numerous articles on product stewardship and environmental compliance.
Johnson & Johnson's purpose is to improve the health and well-being of families everywhere. To fulfill this goal, we must protect the environments in which we work and live. A healthy planet and a healthy community go hand in hand. Johnson & Johnson sets high standards in the area of environmental responsibility — striving for performance that does not merely comply with regulations but reduces our environmental impacts. We have a responsibility to take care of our planet and preserve its beauty, resources and strength for future generations.
Attendees of the Certification Consumption and Change Conference will hear Mr. Iannuzzi in conversation with Dan Vogel, CEO and Co-Founder of Enablon, and Kerry Cesareo, Managing Director, Forests, for the WWF. The format of the conference allows attendees an extended period to question the panelists following a discussion moderated by Matt Furman, Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Mars Chocolate.
The Certification Consumption and Change Conference will take place May 24th at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The conference will bring together 150 representatives from top brands that source certified ingredients and eco-label their products, leading ethical certifiers, government agencies and NGOs, and the service providers that make reporting and compliance possible. Conference attendees will enjoy a full day of panel discussions that will shape the future of ethical certifications.
