CSX Hosts MBA Fellow from EDF; REI Reports "Satisfied" Employees; Banorte Raises $580K for Mexican Drought Victims - CSR Minute for June 4, 2012

CSX will welcome an MBA student from the Environmental Defense Fund’s Climate Corps summer fellowship program for the third consecutive year. The selected Fellow will work with the company’s environmental and operations teams to develop a program to educate employees about how to save energy.

REI’s stewardship report for 2011 includes the results of an independent survey of the company’s employees about worker satisfaction. The company’s overall score is a favorability rating of 87 percent, based on employee comments in eight key areas. REI has also been included on Fortune’s “Best Places to Work For” list for the 15th consecutive year, ranking at number eight on this year’s edition.

Banorte and its Foundation have collected over eight million pesos, about $580,000, through its network of ATMs and IXE branches to help support drought victims. The funds were divided equally among the fives state most affected, and were sent to support families through local civil society organizations in each state known for their professionalism and transparency.
