CSX Launches Facebook Contest for Earth Month; Johnson Controls Makes FTSE4Good Index - CSR Minute for April 10, 2012
CSX, the rail transportation company, has launched an “Environmental Pursuit” Facebook contest to celebrate Earth Month. Throughout April, fans can test their “green IQ” about freight rail transportation and sustainability. Contest participants will be eligible to win a variety of eco-friendly prizes each week, and three grand prize winners will each receive $1,000, plus CSX will donate another $1,000 to one charitable organization selected by each of the three winners. CSX’s game challenges its online followers to learn more about the positive environmental impact of shipping by rail.
Johnson Controls has been included on the FTSE4Good Index Series for 2012. The company received an overall ESG—environment, social, and governance—rating score of 99 out of 100 points. This is the ninth time the company has made the list. The FTSE4Good Index Series measures the performance of companies that meet or exceed globally recognized corporate ethical standards and social responsibility criteria.
