Campbell Honored for Advancing Occupational Health and Wellness

Mar 23, 2011 7:33 AM EDT

The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) has selected Campbell as the 2011 recipient of its Business Recognition Award. The award recognizes corporate commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment and supporting occupational health nurses.

"This award reflects the hard work and diligence of Kathleen Schulz [Manager-Health and Wellness] and our occupational health nurses," said Jan Kelly, Director-Health and Welfare Programs.

That work includes:

  • continuous improvement to incorporate standards and best practices;
  • promoting engagement through clinical education, development opportunities and team recognition;
  • partnering with Human Resources, Legal, Safety and other internal functions to align strategies; and
  • promoting employee health through wellness program implementation.

Since 1999, AAOHN has presented its annual Business Recognition Award to Target, Dupont, Otis Clapp, Viking Yacht, 3M and other companies.

The award will be presented at the AAOHN Annual Conference on May 4 in Atlanta.

Through its “Nourishing” corporate social responsibility program, Campbell has been widely recognized for making a positive impact in the workplace, in the marketplace and in the communities in which it operates. The company has been added to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, named to the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List by Corporate Responsibility magazine, and named a Catalyst Award Winner in 2010. Campbell recently published its 2010 Corporate Social Responsibility report, which describes the company’s strategies, policies and programs that will help drive the company toward four comprehensive goals by 2020.
