Clorox has scored a perfect 100 percent rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2013 Corporate Equality Index. The company has earned a perfect rating on the CEI since 2006 and has been named one of the “Best Places to Work for GLBT Equality.” The CEI is a nationally recognized measure of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality in the workplace.
DaVita, a provider of kidney care services for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, has partnered with Shoes That Fit to provide shoes for 5,000 children in the U.S. Next February and March, thousands of DaVita teammates will join together to purchase 5,000 pairs of shoes for children identified by the Shoes That Fit program, which partners with sponsors to connect kids in need with those who can provide shoes.
The Third Roundtable on China-Africa Cooperation has concluded that Chinese companies doing business with African partners or in Africa should promote social benefits as well as business growth. China has been Africa’s largest trading partner for the last three years, and Chinese-African trade is expected to exceed $200 billion dollars this year. More than 400 diplomatic envoys, entrepreneurs, and officials from China and African countries attended the event, held in Hainan, China.
