DuPont and Ogilvy recently received a gold award from One Show Entertainment in recognition of the show, "Helping Rebuild Greensburg." One Show Entertainment seeks to recognize the intersection of brands and entertainment – in film, television, music, gaming and beyond – and to award innovation and creativity.  This year, only 22 awards were presented worldwide.

The "Helping Rebuild Greensburg” show documents how DuPont in partnership with customers made an initial donation of more than 30 innovative products and services worth nearly $750,000 to help rebuild homes and businesses in tornado-ravaged Greensburg, Kansas, in the USA.

The town was leveled by one of the largest tornados in U.S. history in 2007.  Very few structures remained in the aftermath of the deadly EF5 tornado and more than 1,500 people were displaced after losing their homes.

“DuPont employees and customers came together to help the families in Greensburg.  We care about protecting lives, we care about building homes and we care about safeguarding communities,” said Tom Schuler, president, DuPont Building Innovations.  “We are pleased to support the people of Greensburg with sustainable products that will help make a difference in the renewal of the town.”

The materials, which included key end-use products from DuPont customers, provide a number of benefits to homeowners in Greensburg for safety and energy efficiency, using sustainable materials for both inside and outside their homes.  Among the DuPont products provided are:

• DuPont™ Tyvek® Weatherization Systems, including DuPont™ Tyvek® Homewrap® and Tyvek® AtticWrap™
• DuPont™ Corian® and DuPont™ Zodiaq® surfaces
• DuPont™ SentryGlas® interlayers
• DuPont™ StormRoom™ with Kevlar®
• DuPont™ RealTouch® laminate flooring
• DuPont™ Garden Products
• DuPont™ Air Filtration products

Key DuPont customer donations included:

• Mohawk Smartstrand® carpet with DuPont™ Sorona® renewably sourced polymer
• Johnson Controls air conditioning systems using energy efficient, non-ozone-depleting DuPont™ Suva® 410-A refrigerant
