Hilton has announced a $3 million, three-year partnership with the International Youth Foundation. The partnership expands Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” program, which creates opportunities for global youth by providing them with first-hand access to education, training, and career paths in the hospitality industry.
Xylem has been awarded the Excellence Award by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy. Xylem, a global water technology company, partners with organizations such as Water for People, Mercy Corps, and China Women’s Development Foundation on school and community water projects, sanitation and hygiene education, and disaster preparedness and relief efforts.
European venture philanthropy investments have hit the 1 billion euro mark, according to the Financial News. New research says that firms are increasingly turning to venture capital techniques to support social enterprises. The landmark billion euro figure was reached despite an average fund size of just 11 million euros.
