(Justmeans.com / CSR News) - ICMM and the University of Manchester co-hosted a one-day seminar on “Extractive industries, fiscal systems and human welfare: national policy and local development in Peru, Chile and Bolivia”. 

The event was held on 24 October at the offices of ICMM member Anglo American and was well attended, with 45 participants from academia, the mining industry, civil society and investment.

The seminar was hosted by John Groom, COO at ICMM, and chaired by Anthony Bebbington of the University of Manchester.

ICMM’s Resource Endowment initiative was presented by Alan Roe, principal consultant at Oxford Policy Management. There were presentations on national and cross-national perspectives, and later on sub-national perspectives. Both sessions were followed by animated interaction with participants, whose number and diverse areas of interest contributed much to the discussion.
