KIA Posts Five-Year CSR Plan; MGM Resorts Fights Childhood Obesity; Keep America Beautiful & Nestle Waters NA Launch Youth Recycling Contest - CSR Minute for August 17, 2012
KIA Motors has announced a five-year CSR Global Project with a budget of $12 million. As part of its plan, the company will build a Green Light Day Care Center in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The project will be carried out jointly with Korean NGO Good Neighbors.
MGM Resorts has donated $25,000 to expand its program to fight childhood obesity. The program, the Coordinated Approach to Childhood Health, CATCH, is a partnership with the Jared Foundation, founded by SUBWAY restaurant spokesman Jared Fogle to help children eat healthier.
Keep America Beautiful is teaming up again with Nestle Waters North America to launch the second annual Recycle-Bowl youth recycling competition. Participating schools will track and report how much recyclable material they collect. The school in each state that collects the most will win $1,000. The competition runs from October 15th through November 9th.
