The state of New Hampshire is investing $1 million in federal funds over the next year in a program that educates food stamp recipients about nutrition. The state has one of the oldest nutrition education programs in the country, having launched its effort 20 years ago. The federal governments budgets $389 million for nutrition education programs for food stamp recipients throughout the country.

Corporate Care Management and EBS-RMSCO, a risk management firm, have created $5 million in savings for employer clients by using a population-based care management system. The savings were achieved through billing and benefits coordination costs, case management costs, and a savings of $3.9 million in costs through early cancer detection initiatives. The details are outlined in a new case study published by Verisk Health, which provides a medical intelligence solution.
