Prudential Earns Best Practices Award for Diversity; Molson Coors Sets New Energy Efficiency Targets; Abbott Partners with Feeding America for Disaster Relief - CSR Minute for August 30, 2012

Prudential has earned a Best Practices Award from ABILITY magazine for its commitment to programs that offer training, opportunity, and ongoing support to people with disabilities. The magazine notes that Prudential is consistently ranked as a top employer for diversity, and is currently a lead sponsor and co-developer of VET Talent, a program for veterans that prepares them IT positions.

Molson Coors has set efficiency targets for 2020 that include reducing its water intensity by 20 percent, its energy intensity by 25 percent, and carbon emissions intensity by 15 percent over last year’s levels. Miller Coors, the company’s U.S.-based joint venture with SAB Miller, also recently set targets for its environmental impacts.

Abbott has partnered with Feeding America to pre-position disaster relief packs in food banks located in high-risk areas. The packs are designed to provide the first way of relief following a hurricane or other disaster, filling the gap until traditional relief efforts can be mobilized. The packs contain Abbott Nutrition products, including nutritional bars, drinks, and rehydration solutions for adults and children, for three days.
