(3BL Media) July 4, 2012 - City Developments Limited (CDL) has published its 5th edition Sustainability Report 2012 which is available online at www.cdl.com.sg/sustainabilityreport2012.
With this report, CDL is pleased to be the first Singapore property developer to successfully publish a Level A Report using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3.1 guidelines as well as the newly released Construction and Real Estate Sector Supplement (CRESS).The CRESS was only released by GRI in September 2011 and the performance indicators included are better tailored to the real estate and construction industry for enhanced relevance and transparency.
Titled “Ideas, Initiatives, Impacts”, the report covers CDL’s company-wide environmental and social performance for the calendar year 2011. The Company has continued to align the ISO 26000:2010 Guidance on social responsibility with its business operations and has also reported on the improvements made in addressed areas including Human Rights, Employee Engagement, Corporate Governance and Community Involvement. References have also been made to the United Nations (UN) Global Compacts 10 Universal Principles. The report has also been externally verified by an independent Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner based on the AA1000 Assurance Standard.
CDL continues to voluntarily disclose information pertaining to sustainability as it believes in upholding the principles of transparency and open communication. The Company remains committed to subscribe to internationally accepted guidelines and models to improve its CSR engagement and performance.
