(3BL Media) August 16, 2012 - Teck Publishes 2011 Sustainability Report
Teck’s 2011 Sustainability Report, Taking Root, is now available online at www.teck.com/sustainability.
In 2011, Teck launched a sustainability strategy that identified six focus areas which represent the company’s most significant sustainability challenges and opportunities: Community, Water, Ecosystems and Biodiversity, Energy, Materials Stewardship, and Our People.
Teck developed a vision and goals for each focus area, bringing greater focus to the company’s work in sustainability. The theme of the 2011 report, Taking Root, speaks to the work being done to grow and expand Teck’s efforts to contribute to sustainability.
The 2011 Sustainability Report marks the company’s eleventh year of reporting on its sustainability performance. The report complies with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) at the A application level. The GRI application level, selected indicators, and alignment with the International Council on Mining and Metals’ 10 Sustainable Development Framework Principles were independently reviewed by Deloitte & Touche LLP.
