Sharing DuPont’s Sustainability Journey in Vietnam

DuPont recently collaborated with the Centre for Natural Resources and Environmental Studies (CRES) of Vietnam National University in Hanoi, to organize the 2nd National Workshop on the Environment and Sustainable Development. The focus of the workshop was on how to collaborate and translate policies into action plans for a sustainable Vietnam.

sustain vietnamMore than 150 participants from government agencies, universities, research centers and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) attended the workshop. Speakers included government officials from the Sustainable Development Office of Ministry of Planning and Investment; the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Office; and the Natural Resources and Environment Department of Thai Nguyen province. More than 40 scientific reports and presentations on sustainable development, biodiversity conservation and climate change were received and shared.

 A key workshop presenter, DuPont shared the company’s sustainability goals, progress and best practices. In his welcoming remarks, Hoang Van Thang, CRES director, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said, “The workshop is an occasion to present the latest research results in the field of natural resources, environmental protection and sustainable development. This is a good opportunity for CRES to strengthen collaboration and cooperation with local and international organizations. DuPont is the first private company that supports this national workshop, and I thank DuPont for its collaboration that makes this workshop possible.”

Tan Lam Chuan, country manager, DuPont Vietnam, said, “In 2009, DuPont Vietnam successfully organized the first sustainability forum in Ho Chi Minh City through partnering with Vietnam National University.  This year, we continue such momentum by expanding the inclusive collaboration to promote our strong position on sustainability leadership among key government officials in Hanoi.”
