Southwest employees, including those of its subsidiary, AirTran, have volunteered 2,500 hours to help prepare schools for returning students and teachers. In more than 50 cities nationwide, employees contributed to creating school environments that would excite kids to learn.

Mary Kay has announced a five-year, $500,000 pledge as the lead corporate supporter for the Lost Pines Forest Recovery Campaign. The Arbor Day Foundation is leading the fundraising campaign to support efforts by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Texas Forest Service to plant more than four million trees on public and private land.

The inaugural Green Jobs Forum will be held on September 17th, in Toronto. Sponsored by Green Living Enterprises, the Forum offers a chance for graduates, students and the general public to explore occupations in the green economy. Admission is free.
