Harrisburg, PA (PRWeb) September 28, 2009 – Join Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) in watching the newest litter of future service dogs grow and explore their world. The Crayon litter – Shamrock, Slate, Denim, Rusty, Sienna, Lavender, Onyx, Copper and Jade – can be seen on the SSD Puppy Cam, a live video stream available at http://www.ssdpuppycam.com.
Besides watching the puppies live online, people can visit them for “puppy hugging” or give them a puppy shower to welcome them into the world. For more information about puppy hugging, call SSD at 717-599-5920 or give a puppy shower gift online.
Born on September 3, 2009 to SSD Winter, these puppies will join their puppy raiser families and begin their journey to becoming service dogs when they are just eight weeks old. They will gain the experiences and skills that will enable them to assist individuals with disabilities with their unique needs. Before the dogs are two years old, they will be able to open and close doors, retrieve numerous objects, turn light switches on and off, find a cordless phone and much more. Once the dogs are placed with their partners, each dog is specially trained to assist their partner with their unique needs.
SSD has been training service, hearing, balance, psychiatric and therapy dogs since 1993. SSD is a member of Assistance Dogs International and Capitol Area United Way and includes Keystone Therapy Dogs, a professional-level therapy group that provides comfort and support for children and adults with illnesses and disabilities.
