Together We Stand To Help Aurora Victims

Aug 2, 2012 8:15 PM EDT

(3BL Media) Denver, CO - August 2, 2012 - The mGive Foundation is working with Community First Foundation to launch a text donation campaign that allows Americans to donate to the Community First Foundation Aurora Victim Relief Fund. Donations will be used to meet the immediate and long-term needs of victims and their families and, as funds are available, the broad needs of those affected in the community. To help, anyone can donate $10 by texting the word TOGETHER to 80000.

The text donation campaign will further support the Aurora Victim Relief Fund, established in partnership with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. The first $100,000 in donations have been matched dollar-for-dollar, thus providing a total of $200,000 to those in need. To determine future distributions, Community First Foundation will continue to work with community representatives, including individuals and providers, to establish priorities and identify nonprofits that are assisting the victims and their families.

“Text donations are an additional component of a fundraising strategy that expands the reach and accessibility of nonprofits. We are thrilled to work with mGive to help raise additional dollars to support victims of the horrific Aurora movie theater shooting,” said Dana Rinderknecht, Manager of Online Giving for Community First Foundation.

The mGive Foundation creates everyday philanthropists,” said Jenifer Snyder, Executive Director of the mGive Foundation. “Nearly 100 percent of adult Americans have a mobile phone. Helping the victims of the terrible tragedy in Aurora is only four clicks away.”
