U.S. companies are taking a closer look at working conditions at their clothing factories following a deadly factory fire that killed more than 100 workers in Bangladesh last week. Fire officials say the factory had no emergency exits, and police have arrested three factory officials suspected of locking in the workers during the blaze.

 
New York City fast food workers made national news when they walked off the job launching a rare strike against a nearly union-free industry. Organizers who are calling for greater corporate social responsibility say they want to challenge an industry whose low wages, limited hours and precarious employment typify a growing portion of the U.S. economy,  Stay tuned for corporate responses.
 
Skype is hosting Santa in the Classroom, a contest for K-12 teachers that offers a chance to win $10,000 in technology products from the Microsoft Store plus a Skype call with Santa. Teachers must be members of Skype in the Classroom to be eligible. The contest ends this Friday.
