A Pro-bono Consulting Engagement from Cambridge Leadership Associates
NEW YORK-July 7, 2009- Cambridge Leadership Associates (CLA) is pleased to announce the application finalists for its ADAPT New YorkTM. initiative. CLA is a leadership development firm with extensive experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors and is known internationally as the home of Adaptive Leadership
Under CLA's ADAPT New York initiative, a selected nonprofit will receive one year of pro-bono leadership development consulting, diagnostics, and capacity building services. In order to address the organization's most critical business issue, the year will be co-designed with the organization's senior leadership team and CLA's principals.
Over the course of the last month, CLA received many applications from committed nonprofits across the city. Each nonprofit articulated the unique and compelling challenges facing them as they move forward and sustain their organizations in this current economic crisis. The decision process was a difficult one as all of these organizations need assistance.
After thoroughly evaluating each proposal and working with our partner JustMeans, CLA has identified a group of finalists. Please review the finalist organizations below:
The winner of the year long engagement will be announced Friday, July 17, 2009.
While reimagining the road ahead is difficult for us all, CLA was truly inspired by the determination and insight evident in all the applications. As an appreciation for the effort and tough internal conversations that took place in preparation for their submissions to ADAPT New York, CLA is announcing a free top team program for 9 applicants in October.
Organizations will be asked to bring together between 4 and 8 members of their senior leadership team for a practical, hands-on session with CLA consultants to introduce the Adaptive Leadership Framework and build among the teams a shared language for discussing barriers to progress. These top team sessions have helped organizations across the country develop new approaches and make progress on challenges while internalizing a shared language and set of tools for exercising leadership more effectively.
The organizations taking part in this session in October should make sure to bring with them an "intact team" or a functional group that has collective accountability for an outcome and is held responsible for producing results.
This session will be in New York City with the finalists and the following organizations whose applications were notable:
- Peace Games
- Jewish Funds for Justice
- Replications, Inc.
- The World Lung Foundation
- Wildcat Services
CLA thanks all of the applicants to ADAPT New York. CLA is confident that these organizations will continue to work hard to make a difference for those in New York and beyond.
