Campbell CSR Strategy Checkpoint - May 2009 (13 mb) Campbell Soup Company VP Investor Relations, Len Griehs and VP CSR/Sustainability, Dave Stangis provided a business and CSR strategy update to a group of SRI analysts and researchers this week in NY. We thought their overview covered a broad scope and might be interesting to the JM Community. Attached is a ppt of the slides they used in their presentation.

China is a key part of Campbell's expansion strategy. We sell some products there now. http://www.campbellsoupcompany.com/atw_asia.asp

But we hope to grow there over time.

I will continue to update the JM community as well as all of all stakeholders. But to your specific question - yes we were just discussing the UNGC this past week since our operational principles have been aligned with it for some time.

thank you for sharing these slides. this is a very impressive strategy document with a clear and carefully structured approach to sustainability. great to see the materiality matrix - a step most companies tend to skip. was wondering about campbell's approach to broader global / industry wide initiatives such as the Global Compact and driving improved indirect impacts. good luck with the program, plenty of exciting stuff to be moving forward with ... elaine
