An innovative new format this year - our sustainability panel will be in conversation with different business functions working out the way(s) forward.Speakers include Google, Rio Tinto, Ford, British Land, Standard Chartered, Kimberley Clarke, McDonalds, GE, Sony, Ecover, Taylor Wimpey. All under the guidance of Roger Harrabin. Please use the code (CR25) to receive a £25 additional discount as CorporateRegister subscriber.

A panel of senior sustainability leads will, over the course of one day, be in conversation with over 15 C-Level executives. These conversations will take a walk through the different types of activities of all businesses and consider the environmental challenges. The event will show you how sustainability is currently perceived within the corporate sector and what practical strategies can be employed to get senior buy-in, push it up the agenda and deliver tangible results on the most important fronts.

With the opportunity for the audience to put questions direct to the speakers, this format will deliver straight answers to the challenges faced by Heads of sustainability (and others with direct responsibility - including those in different business activities) in setting goals and delivering a commercial response to climate change. Providing provocative and engaging debate with business heads on what they think will, and will not, work within organisations, the event will take you beyond the "look what is being done" case studies and deliver a set of clear priorities and action points that you can apply within your business. This is more what Aristotle had in mind as a symposium - but without the retsina. Roger Harrabin will be our resident Socrates.

INTRODUCING THE SUSTAINABILITY LEADERS PANEL ">Four sustainability leads will be present throughout the day in conversation with international industry leaders on real world strategies for making sustainability core to your business:

	* Tom Burke CBE, Environment Advisor, Rio Tinto

 * Ruth Girardet, Corporate Responsibility ">* Benjamin Kott, Green Business operations, EMEA, Google

	* Claudine Blamey, Head of Sustainability, SEGRO

 * The Chair: Roger Harrabin, Environment Analyst, BBC

	WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This conference is designed primarily to empower those with sustainability remits or those working on sustainability projects within their business function.

	They would include:

	* Sustainability Leads: Head of Sustainability, Head of CSR, Head of CR, Head of Environment, Head of Climate Change, Head of HSE + related senior managers

 * Other business functions: Board, Operations, Sales + Product

An Economic Development Strategy to Support Low Income Sustainable Entrepreneurs

Greater Good is a comprehensive business development program, run by the Progress Group, that identifies, trains and funds low and moderate income, for-profit sustainable entrepreneurs along Colorado’s Front Range. The program includes a network of services designed to move dozens of aspiring socially responsible businesses from idea to implementation and profitability.

By connecting these emerging triple-bottom-line businesses with key players in the economic development, venture capital and socially responsible business communities, Greater Good will help scale innovative early stage businesses into high-impact ventures. Our goal is to provide civic-minded entrepreneurs from underserved communities with the technical and financial resources they need to succeed. And, in the process; strengthen local communities, increase self-sufficiency, and create new jobs.

The Greater Good Project will be launched on November 12th with a half-day program featuring some of Colorado's leading economic development organizations and emerging sustainable entrepreneurs. We’ll be highlighting the need for a program like Greater Good and reviewing the scope of the project, which will include training courses on sustainable business practices, professional mentoring, an entrepreneurs showcase and an investment fund run by the Colorado Enterprise Fund.

If you believe in the power of business to create economic self-sufficiency, support local economic development and improve environmental conditions, we strongly encourage you to attend. We welcome your participation in bringing the benefits of sustainability and triple bottom line business practices to low and moderate-income entrepreneurs throughout Colorado.

Anne-Marie Fleury will represent ICMM at this year's Communities and Small-Scale Mining (CASM) conference - the most prominent annual forum on Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM). The focus of this year's event is on ASM as a tool for rural development and is being hosted by the Government of Mozambique.

The event presents a key opportunity for a global network of stakeholders to share experiences and address ASM issues in many different countries and circumstances. It is expected to attract people in government, large-scale mining operatives and executives, artisanal and small-scale mining, international agencies, the development community, academics and non-governmental organizations.

CASM is a key partner in ICMM's work to develop tools for companies on ASM engagement and related issues. ICMM is currently working with CASM and Commdev (The Oil, Gas and Mining Sustainable Community Development Fund) to develop a Toolkit on ASM.

For more information on the event click here .

Benjamin Davies will present at a chemicals management workshop being held in Beijing. It is being co-hosted by ICMM and several China-based commodity associations.

The objective of the workshop is twofold: to gain an insight into the future direction of chemicals policy in China, and to increase awareness among Chinese policy makers and industry representatives of initiatives from our sector and explore their acceptance in other jurisdictions.

It will provide metals specific guidance and training on implementation of the new EU regulation on registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals (REACH) and of the UN Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling.

A full program will be available soon and a draft outline describing the workshop content and objectives can be downloaded here (Chinese version here ).

For further information on the workshop or to register participation contact Benjamin Davies .
