Excellent concept. This is a truly innovative approach to moving beyond financing to provide skills and knowledge which can truly break a cycle of poverty for urban youth.

Page 47 of 7th Generation's CSR REPORT warmed my heart. Imagine, a CEO with courage and integrity! Jeffrey Hollender wanted to inspire others to take action to diminish global climate change. But, what is the average person to do? What single action could be taken that would have an immediate, long-term affect on diminishing global climate change? The answer is: installing a residential food scrap digester in your back-yard, and finding space for a neighborhood colony of these cute and uniq

What a great idea! Making funds available to help female social entrepreneurs have more economic resources to support their values is just what is needed to help empower more individuals.
Also, the women who receive funds can share what they have done with the money to support a healthier environment - thereby teaching more of us how to live our values. BRAVO!

Thank you so much, Seventh Generation, for the many ways you are serving as a model for sustainable businesses! I really appreciate your integrity, hard work, and efforts to be as transparent as possible.
As someone who takes a special interest in water issues, I agree with some of your stakeholders who noted that water was not adequately factored in and/or reported in your audits of resource use and recovery, and I look forward to see how you address this area in your 2008 report.

I was inspired by the statement "At Seventh Generation, we know that natural household products are better for all living things". That, in conjunction with the product characteristics "Not derived from animals...nor tested on animals". To that end, I would like to see Seventh Generation products labeled as "cruelty free" and use the $5000 to partner with a cruelty-free organization, such as the "Leaping Bunny", to promote compassionate product shopping.

This is such an excellent idea, and I especially like the fact that you make the organizational sustainable and self-replenishing not only financially but in terms of recruiting and retention--basically you are creating a positive feedback loop that can really impact communities. It would also be really interesting to hear more about how the organization facilitates skills development (IT, sales, time management, etc) as I think that is a major enabler of entrepreneurial success especially in a

Seventh Generation is kin. Seventh Generation's global imperatives are consistent with my personal mission, being regenerative, measuring my actions by Janine Benyus's phrase "does this foster conditions conducive to life?" and by the Iroquois Confederacy's Seventh Generation principles. So I seek to foster (economically, socially, and ecologically) healthy, resilient human communities within

I am inspired by Seventh Generation%u2019s commitment to doing business in a sustainable and open way. Your CSR report moved me with the stories of individual situations, the candor and transparency with which you admit successes and failures and most of all the many ways you empower consumers to make their difference in the world by their every day choices.
With the $5k, I want to build a website where consumers can rate and communicate about local establishments that match their v

The idea that most inspired me from the Seventh Generation report was the overall theme that your products are safe for people, pets and the environment. Recycling, compositing and reduced waste ideas have permeated my sons generation and they are aware and conscious of making efforts to support these ideas. Yet in the classrooms of our elementary schools antibacterial lotions and bright colored non-recyclable bottles are the norm. Adults and babies have a wide variety of natural products ava
