The amazing map which traces 99% of all the materials form one of the 7th generation products was awe-inspiring. We so take for granted the complexity of our modern goods, and all the components that go into them. I think it would be great to develop an iphone app that would allow people to scan a product and have a display with visual images of the natural components that go into the product and the people who made them.

One day, on Twitter, I noticed one of the people I follow asking for advice regarding what car she should buy. This surprised me, as she seemed like a very conscientious, environmentally-aware person. I tweeted, "Have you thought about a hybrid car, such as a Prius?" Two thinks spoke to me in the CSR report. Valuing our world as well as preserving it.
My idea is to help answer this question Can I somehow contribute to alleviating the poverty of others when I travel? . Currently eco-tourism is an up and coming market but would like to promote travel and increase the awareness of the travelers with volunteer oppotunities as well as work within the communities to promotoe sustainability.

After reading the CSR Report the two things that stood out to me were a world rich in value along with the conservation of our world.
Global and Social Sustainability are a must in our lifetime and one way we as a culture can be motivated to preserve the eath as well value it is to become more educated in travel.

Refreshing. It is good to see a company take a hard look at not just itself, but its suppliers when it comes to environmental and corporate stewardship. It is good to see a company publicly evaluate itself, note its shortcomings, and discuss its future goals. I’m pleased to see 7th Generation promoting proven pollution prevention techniques rather than purchasing “carbon offsets”. Conservation begins at home. It takes leadership to recognize this and make those hard changes.

Having just emerged from the world of finance on Wall Street and noticing the level of self as well as mutual delusion that exists in that industry, this report was tantamount to walking into an entirely new set of ethics. What appealed to me most was the idea of systems thinking. The way Seventh Generation took the time to distill its corporate essence and then integrate its core purpose, value and process into its very business model and decision-making fabric blew me away.
