Having just emerged from the world of finance on Wall Street and noticing the level of self as well as mutual delusion that exists in that industry, this report was tantamount to walking into an entirely new set of ethics. What appealed to me most was the idea of systems thinking. The way Seventh Generation took the time to distill its corporate essence and then integrate its core purpose, value and process into its very business model and decision-making fabric blew me away.

The Seventh Generation CSR report inspired me to proceed with ideal projects despite setbacks and challenges. SG's persistence goes to show that many if not all projects and goals are peppered with challenges and problems which the organization or the individual must confront head-on in order to achieve original aims.

This also inspired me to proceed with an already old plan to help improve the condition of the river of my childhood, the Santo Tomas River <http://gypsyone.blogspot.c

I work with Kohala Foundation, who shares Seventh Generation's values. Our motto is: "business solutions for social issues," and our method is to design and promote systems for businesses to use the *core business practices* to generate multiples of impact for local communities. (Like 7th Generation, we go deeper than "cause-related marketing." We design and help businesses implement ways of generating additional value, for community benefit, by doing what they already do--their core business pr

The Seventh Generation CSR report inspired me to proceed with an ideal project which in the end is hoped as an answer to make peoples' lives a little bit better.

Projects will always encounter lapses, challenges and setbacks but it is always the case for many goals. And we know that those who pursue with unwavering determination will somehow start seeing the silver lining.

This I can say with a project I have in mind for many years now --- "Riverside Landscape Design Contest"

I am bored of the passive approach that many of us take to making a positive impact on the environment and society. I fully admit to being guilty of this... most of my time gets spent at home and at the office, yet the real opportunity to make an impact is beyond the keyboard. Sure, we can donate money, and user-generate content until the cows come home but the homeless of San Francisco (where I live) and environmental challenges won't receive the attention they deserve until we take the movemen

    Dear Colleagues
The SolaRoof concepts are very appropriate to the global situation we are all faced with ... these concepts get the the root cause of the global economic crisis which might simply be described as "consumption without replenishment". Banker types thing they are making money ... creating wealth ... when they have rich clients that pay big fees. Engineers know that wealth is created when small resources are used to create big things ... and SolaRoof fits into this category. Sola

After reading the 7th Generation CSR report, plus all of the ideas and comments below I would like to use $5000 to further develop my idea and online prototype at http://www.SustainableWidget.com

SustainableWidget is an online tool that educates and develops sustainable practices and policy within small to medium sized enterprise (SME) - in a move toward accrediations such as ISO14001 and EMAS. The tool is free to use and all (Ethcal, Environmental, CSR) statements/policies are accessab

The shipping itself is the carbon generator in this idea. I recommend including a policy like Better World Books, which offers the receiver the option to buy carbon offsets against that produced in the transportation process.

Are you suggesting creating new standards that are 3rd party certified or using existing certifications? With the wide array of existing standards, how would the Seventh Generation one be different and inspire others to adopt it?
