How Aflac Raised Its Reputation Pulse Score for Its CSR Initiatives

The Trends: I recently had a conversation with the Reputation Institute, a leading research and advisory firm that collects and analyzes data and proffers advice about corporate reputation. We discussed Pulse Scores, derived from data that the Institute calculates for companies to measure their public reputation. Its algorithms are based on seven dimensions: leadership, performance, products/services, innovation, citizenship, governance and workplace.

Women in Executive Leadership: Now Comes the Hard Part

Catalyst now reports that women comprise only 9.5 percent of top wage earners in the S&P 500. A 2015 CNNMoney analysis shows that women hold only 14.2 percent of the top-five leadership positions at those same companies. This is in spite of the fact that women represent more than 50 percent of the consumer pool and nearly half of the S&P 500 workforce.

Another Birdie as the Aflac Duck lands at the Shell Houston Open

In its first ever appearance at a PGA TOUR event, the Aflac Duck attended the Shell Houston Open this past Saturday. Golf enthusiasts were invited to stop by and meet the Aflac Duck, have their photo taken and send out a tweet at the Aflac Twitter Vending Machine to help Aflac promote its commitment to the treatment and research for childhood cancer.
