February 1, 2018 /3BL Media/ - On AIDAprima's cruise around the Canaries and Madeira, a very special guest was on board for the daily talkshow aboard: Julia Cissewski (45), who works with the Max Planck Institute in the area of evolutionary anthropology, and is the chairwoman of the charitable organization "Orang-Utans in Not e.V." (orangutans in need). She was presented with a check from AIDA for 10,000 euros by Captain Detlef Harms.

Over some 21 days, the future mariners will complete their basic nautical training on the North and Baltic Sea before their first assignment onboard the AIDA fleet.

Upon successful completion of the final technical tests, AIDAsol was provided during its lay time in Hamburg’s HafenCity for the first time with low-emission electricity from liquefied natural gas (LNG) via the LNG Hybrid Barge.

AIDA Home awarded DGNB Seal of Approval for Sustainable Construction

June 10, 2015 /3BL Media/ - The new office complex “AIDA Home” of the cruise line AIDA Cruises in Rostock, Germany, is the first office building in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to be certified with the Silver Seal of Approval for Sustainable Construction by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council). In the evaluation of AIDA Home, factors including resource-conserving use of natural materials, renewable primary energy, and drinking water were examined. Criteria such as land use, accessibility, and thermal and sound insulation were also included in the certification.

January 6, 2015 /3BL Media/ - The Rostock cruise line AIDA Cruises has received the German Fairness Award 2014.

In collaboration with the news channel n-tv, the German Institute for Service Quality conducted a survey with over 40,000 consumers on the subject of fairness. The survey centered on e.g. price-performance ratio, reliability of products, services or company statements, and transparency of information on prices, product and contract services. Around 350 companies from 31 sectors were assessed.
