This annual event, which is a staple among Gildan’s health prevention campaigns, is in fact one of the most anticipated events of the year among its employee base. Despite strict social distancing measures in place to slow the spread of COVID-19, Gildan was determined to keep this important health awareness and prevention campaign going for its employees in a safe manner.

With almost 8 million cases of coronavirus in the U.S., it’s important to remember the fact that 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.

Gildan’s annual “Pink Tour” in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness held during the month of October is an initiative aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer at Gildan’s facilities in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Basin.
The Pink Tour fosters a culture of prevention and inspires breast cancer advocacy, honoring those affected by the disease. Resident Gildan doctors toured the facilities to lead presentations on the importance of prevention through early detection and intervention.
Awareness-raising activities have been launched on the Costa fleet operating in the Mediterranean to support the Umberto Veronesi Foundation "Pink is Good" project for the prevention of female cancers.
