Based on our track record, humans seem unwilling or unable to address climate change in a meaningful way. Previously I explored how both business and government have sabotaged progress but now it’s time to take a look in the mirror and ask: Does the problem lie with us?
Why do we essentially sit back and watch the climate slowly lose its ability to provide for us? Are we a flawed species or are we just doing what nature prepared us to do?
Every Earth Day, we are reminded of the interconnectedness of our world. As we find ourselves in the midst of the sixth mass extinction, the need to protect precious natural resources and ecosystems around the globe has never been greater.
The COVID-19 virus was not caused by climate change. But this virus probably isn’t the last one that will spill over into the human population. It’s entirely possible that the next one will have that direct link to climate.
