Carmaker obtains one third electric energy from renewables

This is the first part of a series on highlights from the brandnew Volkswagen Group Sustainability Report 2013.

The report shows how Volkswagen cares about the environment. We don’t just say it, we mean it.

That’s why we not only improve the energy efficiency of our vehicles constantly, but also make our production 25 percent more eco-friendly until 2018 (based on figures for 2010).

One important part of that effort is to push the use of renewable energy – not only from one source, but from many different sources.

Making cars greener from the start. The group now already obtains around one third of its electricity from renewable sources.

Baxter's Toongabbie, Australia Facility Initiates Installation of Trigeneration Unit

DEERFIELD, Ill., April 2, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Baxter's Toongabbie, Australia manufacturing facility recently began installation of a trigeneration unit at the facility to improve energy efficiency while reducing total facility energy cost. Trigeneration is an industrial-scale process where a single fuel source is used to generate electricity and thermal energy for both heating and cooling.
