First Nation entrepreneur, James Walkus, owner of the multi-generation, family-run James Walkus Fishing Company, credits a large part of his success on his partnership with Marine Harvest Canada. Walkus, who started in the commercial fishing business, now uses his 105' harvest boat (the Amarissa Joye) to transport salmon from the farms to the processing plant in Port Hardy, located on the north-eastern coast of Vancouver Island.

Le 30 Janvier 2015, Goldcorp Inc. et la Première Nation de Wabauskang (« Wabauskang ») ont signé un accord de collaboration qui ouvre la voie pour des avantages économiques profitables pour la Première Nation du nord-ouest de l’Ontario. Le nouvel accord, qui marque le sixième partenariat entre une Première Nation et Goldcorp au Canada, fournit le cadre nécessaire pour une forte collaboration pour l’exploitation des mines aurifères de Red Lake. Une cérémonie de signature a eu lieu le jeudi 29 janvier dans la communauté de Wabauskang.

El 30 de enero, Goldcorp Inc. y la Primera Nación de Wabauskang ("Wabauskang") firman un Acuerdo de Colaboración que abre el camino para obtener beneficios económicos a largo plazo para el noroeste de la Primera Nación de Ontario.

Este nuevo Acuerdo, que marca la sexta asociación de Goldcorp con las Primeras Naciones en Canadá, otorga un marco de trabajo para el fortalecimiento de la colaboración en el desarrollo y las operaciones de las Minas de Oro Red Lake. La ceremonia para firmar el acuerdo se realizó el jueves 29 de enero en la comunidad de Wabauskang.

Wabauskang First Nation and Goldcorp Sign Collaboration Agreement


On January 30, 2015, Goldcorp Inc. and Wabauskang First Nation (“Wabauskang”) signed a Collaboration Agreement that paves the way for long-term economic benefits for the northwestern Ontario First Nation. The new Agreement, which marks Goldcorp’s sixth First Nation partnership in Canada, provides a framework for strengthened collaboration in the development and operations of Red Lake Gold Mines. A signing ceremony was held Thursday, January 29 in the Wabauskang community.
