As we transition back to normal operations, we asked our colleagues and their families to get out the camera, break out the paints, and create fun reminders of the many ways we all can #StaySafe.
Fifth Third Bank, National Association, announced today that it is partnering with Steady and its innovative application to help the Bank’s customers find work and maximize their earnings opportunities. The partnership is one of the Bank’s initiatives to assist people who are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when more than 44 million unemployment claims have been filed.

There’s no place like home for sheltering in place, but the economic upheaval from the global pandemic is making it harder to hold onto those homes.
“A short-term loss of income can turn into a long-term catastrophe if a family loses their housing,” says Annie Cacheiro, executive director of Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC). The nonprofit currently serves two counties in eastern Tennessee, an area with a history of economic hardship.
LIXIL committing US$1m to support accelerated rollout to fight COVID-19
TOKYO, June 23, 2020 /3BL Media/ - Washing your hands thoroughly with soap reduces the spread of disease and can help prevent COVID-19 infection. But for approximately 3 billion people around the world, this step is out of reach. According to UNICEF, 40% of the world’s population does not have access to basic handwashing facilities at home. In the world’s least developed economies, it is as high as 75% of the population. The COVID-19 situation is highlighting vast inequities in access to water, sanitation, and hygiene.
After receiving the green light from the FDA to move forward, Gilead is about to start trials of an inhaled version of remdesivir. We will screen healthy volunteers for Phase 1 trials this week and hope to begin studies in patients with COVID-19 in August. If the trials are successful, this could represent important progress. Remdesivir, our investigational antiviral medicine, is currently given to patients intravenously through daily infusions in the hospital.
Health care professionals and other employees working at senior living communities are on the frontline of caring for a group that is extremely vulnerable to COVID-19: our seniors. These communities have a pressing need for PPE supplies to deliver safe and effective care.

The pandemic has served to further reveal preexisting inequities in housing, education, health care, food security, policing and criminal justice, income, and employment.
Applications are now open for eligible organizations across Canada and the United States
June 19, 2020 /3BL Media/ - The TD Ready Challenge, an annual North American initiative which provides financial support to organizations tackling community issues, is now open and accepting applications until August 13, 2020. The TD Ready Challenge has a total of $10 million (CAD) in grants available to eligible organizations developing innovative and measurable solutions in response to the widespread impacts of the pandemic. New this year, grant amounts will range from $350,000 CAD to $1 million CAD.
