July 8, 2019 /3BL Media/ — When 35-year-old Ni Van paramedic trainee Jerome Sese suffered a heart attack recently, P&O Cruises’ guests played a part in saving his life through their contributions to the guest-funded P&O Pacific Partnership.
With combined support from the Partnership and P&O itself, Jerome is now on the path to a full recovery following cardiac surgery so that he can resume his work with ProMedical Vanuatu providing emergency ambulance care for local communities.
New Program Supports Employee Ideas and Charitable Causes
Inspired by the success of Sappi’s Ideas that Matter program, the company launched a similar program in 2016 called Employee Ideas that Matter. The semi-annual program commits Sappi North America to donate a total of $25,000 to causes that are important to employees. Thousands of residents of Puerto Rico were vaccinated against influenza on Saturday, March 10, in the largest single-day mass immunization campaign in the island's history. The territory-wide campaign was organized by VOCES (Coalición de Vacunación de Puerto Rico), in collaboration with the Puerto Rico Department of Health; Direct Relief, a medical relief nonprofit; and other health entities. Sanofi Cares North America (formerly Sanofi Foundation for North America) donated the vaccines.
