John had a very interesting story in foster care. He was in seven placements and had no behavior issues of his own, but his three siblings needed specific care to work through their trauma. Due to these needs, several placements disrupted, or broke down. Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiters do their best to keep sibling groups together, but sometimes the best thing for the child on their caseload is to be removed from the sibling group. In John's case, that was recommended. Once John was placed with a family on his own, we saw him thrive.
Samantha had been in foster care for eight years and during that time was separated from her brother. It was a traumatic experience made worse when a pre-adoptive home broke down, but little did Samantha know there was a ray of sunshine around the corner. After speaking with her Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiter, Samantha revealed that she really liked her best friend's family and that she had grown close with them. It took some time and a structured plan, but Samantha was adopted by her best friend's family and now her best friend is her sister.

One of life’s greatest family adventures is making the trek to a favorite destination. From sing-a-long songs, to posing next to the world’s largest rocking chair, to playing a round of 21 questions, road trips are a great and relatively inexpensive summer vacation. However, trips can take a toll on the environment and your carbon footprint:
• Each gallon of gasoline burned creates 20 pounds of GHG.
• It would take about 3 newly planted trees 10 years of growth to balance an average road trip of 261 miles.
Thanks to the project promoted by the Costa Crociere Foundation and the Community of Sant’Egidio, 12 people, including a family with children, have a home to live in and from which to begin the process of social reintegration.

Genoa, June 15, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Costa Crociere Foundation, the foundation established by Costa Crociere, and the Community of Sant'Egidio presented the social assistance project "Housing the Homeless".
Through this project, launched in the fall of 2014 and supported by funds from the foundation, 6 apartments in Genoa's historic centre were renovated and assigned by the Community of Sant'Egidio to 12 people in need or homeless, including a family with children.
On June 1, Glee star Matthew Morrison was honored by the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) at a ceremony in New York City for his work as Wil Schuester on the FOX musical series Glee.
