Whirlpool Corporation Commercial Laundry Makes Charitable Donations to Non-Profits.
The City of Fall River, Massachusetts is home to Whirlpool Corporation’s commercial laundry manufacturing facility. So when the team at that plant found out that Solomon’s Porch, a local church, was expanding its homeless shelter, they felt the need to help. That aid came in the form of a commercial washer and dryer.
Whirlpool Corporation has made a donation to a special United Way fund that’s helping food pantries with the increased traffic they are seeing due to the Coronavirus. One of those food pantries is run by Harbor of Hope Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Using tech for good, Feeding America rescues the country’s wasted food to provide hunger relief to millions.
A Broken Food Chain “While we’re a very prosperous nation, there is a lot of need in this country,” says Steve Carlberg, managing director of infrastructure and security for Feeding America. One grave need in America: food.
Over the holidays, Republic Services of Toledo/Erie, Ohio held the second annual Food Pantry for Monroe County residents and successfully fed over 250 local families. Any left-over food from the Food Pantry event went to a local church and shelter to ensure there was no waste. Many of Republic’s employees took time out from their holiday weekend to volunteer for this community event. Thank you to all who participated and happy new year from Republic Services!
