Consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies often find themselves boxed in by customer demand. On one hand, more shoppers say they want to purchase more sustainable products, but many are not willing to pay a premium. And although most consumers still base their purchases largely on price and performance, the trends are clear: Environmental sustainability is expected. This applies to not only products, but also packaging.

DALLAS, February 15, 2017, /3BL Media/ – As one of the world’s largest buyers of market pulp, Kimberly-Clark knows that protecting forests is critical to addressing climate change, conserving terrestrial biodiversity and ensuring a resilient, healthy supply chain, so sustaining this natural resource through responsible forestry is just one of the ways we care for the planet.
For 16 years, Domtar has collaborated with the Rainforest Alliance to preserve the integrity of North American forests and promote biodiversity conservation through responsible paper production and fiber sourcing.

In 2015, 73 percent of Domtar's electrical power requirements were met through cogeneration or on-site hydropower generation, providing environmental, cost and reliability benefits.
Due to the high share of biomass fuel and cogenerated electricity production in our pulp and paper manufacturing processes, Domtar's use of renewable energy is also significant. In 2015, 75 percent of the energy we used in our pulp and papermaking manufacturing processes came from renewable energy sources (this is net of 3% sold in renewable energy marketplaces).
A joint campaign by FSC, Kimberly-Clark, and WWF won the Silver Award in ‘Environmental Campaign of the Year’, PR Awards Asia 2016, a prestigious industry award in the Asia Pacific region.
