AIDA Cruises and Corvus Energy sign agreement for further cooperation at the opening of the first production plant of the battery manufacturer in Norway.
On the occasion of the opening of Corvus Energy's first production plant in Bergen, Norway, AIDA President Felix Eichhorn and the world's most renowned provider of maritime battery systems signed the agreement on September 5, 2019 to electrify the first cruise ship of AIDA Cruises. AIDAperla will be the first ship to be fitted with lithium-ion batteries from Corvus, produced in Norway, in 2020. The 300-meter-long cruise ship receives a battery pack capable of generating a total output of 10 MWh.
ROSTOCK, Germany, August 20, 2019 /3BL Media/ - AIDA Cruises, as part of the Costa Group, Europe's leading cruise company, starts cooperation with the world's leading marine battery supplier Corvus Energy from Norway. On Tuesday, 20 August 2019, a corresponding agreement was signed. The aim of the cooperation is the installation of lithium-ion battery storage systems on board the AIDA fleet and the start of operations on the first AIDA ship in 2020.
