While it’s relatively young for a hydropower plant, Keowee Hydro Station tells the story of a much larger energy project for the beautiful northwest corner of South Carolina.

Duke Energy built the plant and the Keowee Dam along the Keowee River in the late 1960s and early 1970s to create Lake Keowee in Pickens County at the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains.

Keowee Hydro began producing power in April 1971.

BENTON HARBOR — Eric and Mike Farrington have an easy time running through their family’s lineage.

To do so is effortless because a good portion of it can be found at Whirlpool Corp.

The Farrington clan has seen the home appliance maker grow and extend its reach across the world in a manner of decades. In Whirlpool’s 106 years of existence – dating to when it was the Upton Machine Co. – there has been a Farrington working there for the last 71 years.

As of 2017, the Farringtons have collectively spent more than a century at Whirlpool.

Launched in late December, the ads feature an image of Diego during his time in the Generation retail program, practicing new skills during the boot camp style training.

The subway network is used by 4.5 million riders per day! Developed in partnership with the government of Mexico City, the campaign is incredible opportunity to build awareness of the program.
