Q&A with Israel Salinas, VP of Global Product Management & Innovation at Gildan
Earlier this year, Gildan joined international efforts to produce personal protective equipment (PPE) to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the Company’s Innovation Centre, strategically located inside Gildan’s manufacturing complex in Honduras, the Company was able to leverage its state-of-the-art product-development process to help with this important initiative.
To honour Hispanic Heritage Month, we sat down with Juliana Johnson, who works at our Charleston office in South Carolina, to learn more about what her heritage means to her. Read as she shares her perspectives and describes her journey coming from Colombia to the United States:

Since 2018, Gildan and Good360 Australia have partnered to distribute clothing to people in need across the nation. Good360 Australia connects surplus goods of businesses with their network of over 2,000-member charities and eligible schools across the nation to help connect the right goods to the right people at the right time.
Gildan’s continued partnership with Room to Read to support girls’ education and literacy
As part of its commitment to creating stronger communities, Gildan aims to support education in the regions where it operates, and a crucial factor behind the Company’s efforts lie in promoting more inclusive systems which support gender equality in the classroom. This is especially important across regions located in the Global South, where girls often face more barriers to accessing education.

Elieth joined Gildan 13 years ago as a Sewing Machine Operator. She has since witnessed multiple milestones at the Company: from working as an Instructor and Junior Engineer, to growing into her current position as Production Coordinator. Over the years, Elieth has participated in a range of programs at Gildan designed for personal and professional development. Today, she reveals how these initiatives have made their mark on her life.
