Travis and his wife, Kristy are preparing to celebrate their second Christmas season with 4-year-old Zoey. The couple brought Zoey home to Winston-Salem in June 2013.
Employees Volunteer Thousands of Hours at Eight Local Agencies on Friday, Sept. 26
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., October 7, 2014 /3BL Media/ – For HanesBrands employee Angela Carpenter trading in a day at the office for a day out in the community is a small token of her appreciation. Carpenter along with 400 Hanes employees participated in the company’s annual Day of Caring, culminating the company’s annual United Way campaign.
“I’m honored to work for a company that offers its employees a chance to volunteer for United Way partner agencies and other local agencies,” said Carpenter. “It gives us an opportunity to see firsthand the impact these agencies are making.”
In July 2014, more than 1,500 employees from Hanes facilities in Honduras volunteered to clean approximately 5 kilometers of Travesia Beach and plant 300 palm trees in Puerto Cortes. The attendance marks a record in the company’s volunteer program in Honduras.
Plastic, cardboard and other materials were collected and will be recycled or reused by surrounding communities.
Hanes has been operating in Honduras for more than two decades.
