Hershey also installed seven state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging stations at four Hershey, Pa., locations, including upgrading two charging stations already available at Hershey’s® Chocolate World® Attraction.

The $10 million project will be funded by sales of HeatTech and Ultra-Light Down products, and is being developed in partnership with UNICEF, which will receive a $5 million dollar donation.
SASB to create sustainability standards for 89 industries across 10 sectors

HERSHEY, Pa., Dec. 4, 2012 /3BL Media/ - The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY) today announced it will join the Advisory Council of the newly founded Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) as part of Hershey’s commitment to reporting on its expanding sustainability practices. As a member of the Advisory Council, Hershey will help develop reporting standards for the food and beverage industry that will support greater transparency.
Approximately 73% of the world’s four million tons of cocoa is produced by more than two million cocoa farmers in West Africa.
Many of my chocolate and cocoa company members have been providing assistance to these farmers since the early to mid-1900s, none more than The Hershey Company which began to purchase cocoa from West Africa in 1930 and in 1948 was a founding member of an organization I formerly headed, the American Cocoa Research Institute.
Chrysler’s new Dodge Dart has been named a 2012 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The vehicle, the first joint product of Chrysler and Fiat, scored the highest rating in each of the four crash test used by the IIHS to evaluate passenger safety. Chrysler just reported its best U.S. September sales in five years, with an increase of 12 percent.
