HACR Responds to Violence on Capitol Hill

Insurrection by rioters was an attack on American democracy

WASHINGTON, January 8, 2021 /3BL Media/ – The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) condemns the violent insurrection on January 6, 2021 in which the United States Capitol was overrun by a mob of rioters. This act of domestic terrorism, which led to the desecration of the Capitol building and the loss of five lives, including one U.S. Capitol police officer, occurred after protesters stormed the Capitol building to disrupt a joint session of Congress certifying the Electoral College vote in Capitol Hill.

Cavazos, the president and CEO of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will serve for a two-year term effective January 1, 2021. Cavazos previously served as secretary on the board's executive committee.

HACR Announces Sylvia Pérez Cash as Senior Vice President of Operations

Long-time nonprofit executive will assume operational duties January 2021

Cash has over 15 years in nonprofit management, most recently as vice president of strategic programs and knowledge for United Way of Greater Cleveland, one of the largest chapters in the country.  

HACR Supports Nasdaq Board Diversity Filing With SEC

Would require more diverse board composition and diversity statistics disclosure

December 2, 2020 /3BL Media/ - The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) endorses yesterday’s filing by Nasdaq proposing that all listed companies report full and consistent diversity statistics related to its board of directors. If approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the new standard would also require each company to have at least two diverse directors—one self-identifying female and one self-identifying minority or LGBTQ+ director.

HACR Commends New California Law Requiring Diversity on Corporate Boards

California Assembly Bill 979 signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom necessitates placement of directors from underrepresented communities on boards of publicly held companies in the state

WASHINGTON, October 6, 2020 /3BL Media/ - The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) supports the passage of Assembly Bill 979 by the California State Assembly and State Senate signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on October 30, 2020. The new law mandates that all California-based, publicly held companies have at least one board director from an underrepresented community by 2021.

Another prestigious group has recognized AT&T for its diversity efforts.  The Hispanic Association of Corporate Responsibility (HACR) has given a nearly perfect rating of 95 out of 100 to AT&T on their Corporate Inclusion Index (CII) – the highest rating of any company surveyed.
